Old furnace and spying policemen

Thanks for not chopping my head off after reading my last post on babies, toddlers and children. Not that I really thought you would, but you never know... :)

-----

Our house was inspected yesterday and nothing too serious was found. We didn't think there would be either as the house is built from solid concrete and doesn't have any funky building materials or structures. We're going to try and negotiate a bit on the price though as some things did turn up that we didn't expect. When signing the "pre-contract" we asked about the heating system and how old the furnace was. The seller told us it was pretty new, changed in the last couple of years. It wasn't. It was from 1964. And when visiting the house before signing we couldn't see this as they had a wine cooler on the floor right in front of the door to the furnace cupboard. We'll see how it goes with the negotiating...

Boyfriend and I are very happy about moving out of our apartment in a couple of months. We've rented it for a year and from the start we decided that we wouldn't stay too long. It would be a passing-through-place. Different reasons and circumstances made us move down town and this apartment was what we could find that was okey enough.

We love the location of it right smack in the middle of restaurants and shops, and close to the main bus stops and train station. But that's about it. The apartment is dark. And the people we share our laundry room with are pigs. And the people we share our garbage room with are pigs. They are the same people.

And now this... Or apartment might be used in a police operation/investigation... A couple of days ago we got a ring on the door and two policemen asked to come in. They asked us if they could borrow the peep hole in our entrance door for spying on one of our neighbours. They suspect him of dealing with drugs... We've given them an okey but haven't yet heard from the man in charge of the investigation, so we don't know if/when they'll show up.

As I said, we're happy about the upcoming move. :)

ETA: We have a policeman in our apartment right now. Standing in our hallway staring out through the peep hole. Exciting job!

I hope the negotiation on the house goes well and that you don't have police in the house all night!

I completely understand why you're excited to move out of your apartment! I don't think I could ever live in one again... I'm just too much of a grouchy hermit.
