Flying weekend

Where do the weekends go? This one flew by so quickly I wonder if I even had time to blink.

I ended up going back to work on Thursday, feeling better but not all okey. I don't know what it was all about. I didn't have a fever, I didn't feel nauseaous, I didn't have a headache, my joints didn't hurt... It was simply my stomach. And as I said, it wasn't pretty...

Friday afternoon I treated myself to a pedicure. I've gone once before and I'm happy with the things she does. But... She's awfully talkative and I just sit there wishing that she could be quiet. Luckily she has enough sense to shut up when she gets to the massage. And what a great foot massage that is! 45 minutes of pure heaven.

On Saturday I spent a couple of hours helping my parents out in their new apartment. My sister and I took care of the book shelves. We thought it'd take us about an hour or two but even though we worked really hard we spent 3½hours locating boxes with books in them, arranging them in three different sections (hard cover fiction and large books (mainly cooking and garden books) in one, paper back fiction and travel books in the second and non-fiction books related to politics, law, history and also memoars in the third one), moving shelves up and down to get all the books in and make it look stylish enough for our mother...

Have to say that it felt relly good being there and I didn't have any of the feelings I wrote about ten days ago. I was just excited for them. Might feel differently next week when I'm supposed to help out clean the old apartment...

Returning home on Saturday night I took boyfriend out for dinner. We ended up in a restaurant we hadn't been to before and it turned out to be a hit.

Yesterday I was in a strange mood. I woke up feeling irritated and it was my turn to do the laundry. Starting at 7am. (I look forward to having my own washing machine shortly!) To try and get my mood more balanced I thought I needed to focus on something so I decided to start working on the bag I want to sew for my sister for Christmas. A purse-kind-of-thing that can hold a paper back novel, a bottle of water, a wallet and keys. Just as I started sketching it out, boyfriend suggested we'd go looking for an "accordion screen door" (whatever the English word/phrase could be) to put up in the new house so we can keep the cats away from our bedroom door in the mornings... After a lot of sighing and almost crying on my part I got myself ready and we headed out.

The whole day was strange. If I didn't know better, I'd think I was PMSing. I snapped more than once at boyfriend. Couldn't keep from rolling my eyes at him. Sighed an awful lot. Felt really tired and cranky. Boyfriend tried to be all nice to me but overworked it and that got me snapping again. Not even an hour in the bathtub made any difference...

Sat down by the sewing machine and made two headbands, inspired by this tutorial. They looked alright when I was done with them but trying them on made me laugh for the first time yesterday. They looked rubbish on me and I couldn't get them to stay on nicely. I think I have a strangely shaped head as many things I make for my head (as knitted hats) end up looking awful. They are too big. Or too small. Or something. Or maybe I just don't know how headbands are supposed to be worn.

Ended up falling asleep before 9.30pm and I guess I really needed that. Feel soooo much better today!
