Some days surprises are more welcomed than other days.
I had a rough day at work on Friday. And left early to go home and sleep some on the cough with my two cats as heaters under the duvet. I had been cold all day. Biking home was tedious as we were in the outskirts of the bad weather over Great Britain and the Netherlands. Needless to say I got wet and my muscles ached from having to press more firmly than usual on the pedals to get the bike moving.
When I opened the door and looked down on the pile of mail, I couldn't keep from smiling and feeling more energetic. I had a parcel to pick up from the post office!!! Not caring about my wet clothes and my aching muscles, I grabbed the slip and left for the post office. The only thing I could think of it being was the sewing patterns I ordered the week before. I was amazed at the fast shipping, and walking to the post office I started planning my visits to fabric stores on Saturday.
The first thing I noticed when I was handed the parcel was the sender's home town. I giggled when I saw it, thinking to myself what a coincidence it was that the sewing girl lived in the same town as some of my relatives used to live in and where one of my knitting friends lives. As soon as I had that last thought in my head I realized that the padded envelope was from her!!! My knitting friend; Geek Knitter.
I almost ripped the envelope open right there in the post office, but I restrained myself until I came home. In the envelope I found the cutest card with kittens on it. They talked about the strange human habit of dunking cookies in milk... :) Her written words in the card made me go all teary. There was book mark included in the card and the cats on it were black and white just like my Skorpan and JumJum. One of them almost had the same face markings as Skorpan. That made me smile. And then I touched the yarn she sent me. And almost started to purr like a cat (many cats here...). Soooooo soft, luxurious and devine. And the colour! I've looked at it a hundred times by now and still can't figure out if it's a brownish purple or a purply brown. Lovely!!!
Unfortunately I can't show pictures of it right now (- stupid camera battery -) but if I tell you that it's a hank of Fino from Alpaca with a Twist, some of you might know my desire to purr like a cat when I touch it. It's baby alpaca mixed with silk and comes in 100 gram hanks of 875 yards. Loooooove it.
Thank you! Tack så mycket!

I love your perfect timing in shipping the gift overseas! Thanks again! I keep the yarn on my armrest on the cough and I fondle it a bit every night. :)
Gifts are always fabulous - especially when they come from fabulous friends! Enjoy! :)
