To distract you from the fact that I still have no modelling pictures of my Laminaria, I present you my two new cushions for our couch:
Two very stuffed cushions
I bought this fabric at Åhléns two weeks ago. I fell head over heels in love with it and knew instantly that it needed to become cushions for our couch. Brown and green are the main colours in our living room and this fabric just lightens things up with its yellow birds and pink rabbits...
I decided to skip the zipper in these and instead make the back out of two overlapping fabric pieces that form an opening for the cushion. I miscalculated a bit and didn't overlap them enough so I'll add tiny buttons to keep the cushion from showing.
The cushions are 50cm x 50cm/20in x 20in and I made the covers about 5cm/2in smaller to ensure puffy and stuffed cushions.

I actually didn't knit a single stitch all weekend!!! I can't remember when that happened last. I have, however, spent a lot time working woth fabric and sitting by my sewing machine. Not only did I make these two cushion covers, I also made my sister's birthday present. I don't think she reads this blog, but I'll hold off pictures until I know she's got the package and has opened the gifts.
So, I'm leaving you today with yet another cliff hanger. :)

Loving the fabric! It's so totally awesome. I wish we had Åhléns over here because I would go get a whole bolt of that fabric. :)
Great job on the cushions! I can't wait to see what you've done for your sister - I'm sure it is fabulous!
The cushions look great! They sound like they will be good accent pieces for your room. I think I'll pay a visit to my sewing machine after work today! Thanks :)
Good job, girl! :) -Shell
