I went to a workshop in yarn dyeing yesterday. It was held by Fröken Garn/Carina/Miss Yarn in her yarn shop in Malmö. There were 8 of us signed up for the workshop and I think all of us had a good time.
I didn't bring my camera but Anna over at Annas Garndrömmar has some pictures posted here. (You can see parts of me and one of my brown hanks!)
Going there I had no idea what colour I'd go for in my first dyeing experience ever. I knew I had 4 small hanks of 50gr each so I could try out four completely different colours or combinations if I wanted to. Getting there I realized there were no real limitations in what colour to dye (except for bright red and pitch black) and this gave us all a bit of a head ache...
I ended up with this:
I don't know if you can see it clearly but the two brown hanks are not identical. One of them is a smidge lighter than the other one. I was thinking about making all hanks brown and have them getting lighter and lighter, but seeing everyone else's beautiful and vibrant colours, I just had to get some colour for myself. I actually didn't dye the turquoise one, but traded that one with the lighter turquoise Anna had a picture of in her blog. She wanted difference in her turquoise hanks and I wanted vibrant colours...
I think these hanks might become wrist warmers, but I'm not sure.
Dyeing was real fun and I'll be sure to sign up for more workshops with Fröken Garn!

I'll leave you with some more colours!
More pictures will follow when the slipover is blocked and properly finished...

Glad to hear you had such a nice time at the workshop. Your yarn is just lovely!
I can't wait to see that vest all finished - the colors are so fabulous!
I've just bought some dyes for the first time in my life too!
I think I'll just be hit-and-miss. I think your dyeing looks good!
