My sister's birthday cushion covers

Pattern: My own

Fabric: "Gunilla", designed by S Edholm and L Ullenius for IKEA (The drop down menu will show you the different patterns in the Gunilla-collection)

Project time: Saturday, September 20th, 2008 - Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Thoughts: I wanted to make my sister something for her birthday and decided that she needed a bit of colour added to her room. But knowing my sister, I knew she wouldn't like something that was all too out there colourwise so I decided to go with black and white and spice it up a bit with colour.

The covers have two overlapping pieces at the back so one can get the pillow inside without having to deal with zippers. They overlap generously to keep from gaping.

I can't remember the exact size I made after debating back and forth. I think they ended up somewhere around 55cm x 55cm/21.5in x 21.5in. In the pictures I've stuffed them with pillows 5cm/2in bigger.

They look fantastic - I love the small band of color across the front - very creative!

I really like black & white & bright colors--and that orange fabric is really great!

(And I just noticed Laminaria--gorgeous work!)

Verkligen effektfullt med fåglarna tvärsöver det svartvita! Snyggt! Blir ju nästan sugen på att sy lite :)
