WIP - Sylvi

I promised you pictures of my work-in-progress; Sylvi.

I've knit the two sleeves but left them with provisional cast ons as I don't know what to do about the cuffs. Yet.

WIP - Sleeves
Sleeves on my floor.

I have another 20 rows or so to knit on the back. I'm about to start the armhole shapings. (Was supposed to do that yesterday but my knitting company was too nice to be ignored while I tried to focus on armhole shapings...) The back is, obviously, not blocked and it still lacks petals for the flowers. They're applied by picking up stitches around the clusters of bobbles.

Back of Sylvi
Back of Sylvi with cables and seed stitch. (The hole in the leaf up to the left is a result of me picking up the wrong bar when increasing stitches... Will stitch is up with yarn and needle later.)

Back of Sylvi
A close up of the back and one of the flower stems. The petals will be applied around the boobles you see in the middle of the picture.

I have fallen in love with seed stitch knit in thicker wool. And heathered greys.

What's there not to love?

Sylvi looks gorgeous! I've had this in my Rav queue for a bit, but because it's such a big project, requiring tons of yarn, I've kind of held back to see how it works out with others on Rav. Seeing yours makes (not yet finished) gives me hope!

Best wishes for 2009, Anna!

Du stickar så otroligt fina saker. Jag är grymt imponerad - som den hobbystickare jag är. Hoppas att du är nöjd med sylvi =) Ha det fint! Hälsn. Jessica i Sthlm.
