Preparing

I'm preparing for my upcoming vacation. I leave home in less than 48 hours...

I've written my pack lists (one for carry on, one for the make up bag, one for my suitcase (and the latter is divided into two parts; clothes and other stuff)). I've found some Canadian coins and a fiver in my foreign money stack and I've put them in my wallet with the Christmas dollars I got from my parents... No American dollars though, so I have an errand to run after work today.

I've started a travel knitting (I won't bother with the stress of finishing Sylvi before I go as she's too big to put in the suitcase anyways...). I've located my passport, an adaptor, my travel sheets and an address book. I've bought stuff from the pharmacy/drugstore (tiny containers with soap, skin lotion and lip balm) as well as some small gifts to bring with me.

I've talked to my sister and I know where I'm supposed to get off the shuttle and meet her on Thursday night.

I've bought myself an mp3-player (a TrekStoreL) and I have loaded it with 896 songs. That will keep me going for a bit... (I have approxaimately 17-18hours of travelling and waiting to do on Thursday and getting an mp3-player just seemed like the smart thing to do...)

I've decided to use the green suitcase I borrowed from my brother as the black one my parents brought me seems awfully small. I would've preferred being able to use the black one as it's easier to haul around. But, I also want to be able to bring clothes with me... And maybe some yarn and fabric back...

Saturday and Sunday I did most of my laundry. I have another load to run tonight. I also need to iron one or two shirts.

At work I'm sending out emails to people telling them I'll be gone for 3 weeks. I'm trying to get as much done as possible as I don't want to be the reason for all projects to come to a complete stop. But I'm also making sure I understand the bagage restrictions correctly for my flights and that I know how using my VISA-card abroad works.

My throat is starting to hurt and my hip is acting up a bit. I'm definitely preparing for a vacation.

Have a wonderful time - oh I usually ring my credit card company before I leave just to let them know I will be abroad.

It doesn't seem to matter how good my lists are, I always seem to forget something crucial, like tootpaste or a flying book...

Safe journey to you!
