I was wrong...
A Spread Spectrum Sock still alive but barely hanging on...
It totally looks like two different colours....
I took out the needle and shoved the two pieces and the yarn butterflies (the mess you see over the leg part of the sock) in a plastic bag and hid it in my yarn stash... We'll see what happens to the yarn...
Instead of grieving the now-dead-sock, I casted on for another pair; a pair of Donyales. I'm knitting mine toe up. I needed something springy or summerlike after the dark clouds that accumulated over my head when deciding to get rid of the Spread Spectrum Socks, and therefore I chose to use the bright green HandMaiden Casbah Sock I bought on my vacation in Canada earlier this year. The yarn is a mix between merino wool, cashmere and nylon. It is amazingly soft and wonderful and had a shine to it that I love.
This is my progress so far:
Donyale sock...
Sorry for the strange angle in the picture. I promise I don't have misformed feet... I just wanted to show you that I had turned the heel and was working on the gusset.

Ugh, Anna! Sorry about the difference in dye lots! But your Donyales look FABULOUS! And I noticed you're using the stitch markers I gave you--yay!!! :) Glad they're coming in handy.
I love that sock!!! I can't believe the two yarns from the first photo are the same colour. They are so different.
