Transformations

A Sunday some weekends ago, I attended a workshop in dyeing yarn. This was my second attendance, and one of the news was the ability to dye sock yarn!

I really want a pair of kneesocks and I thought it'd be a fun thing to make them out of a yarn I had dyed myself. I aimed for beige, natural, lightly brown or something to that category. I ended up with a soggy and washed out pink... Don't ask me what happened...

The hanks look alright in some lights and just dirty in other surroundings. I keep looking at them and I can't really make up my mind about them. Do I like them or not? I think I'll knit a couple of rows to see how it all comes out and then decide if they're kneesock material for me.

My hanks came up veeeery tangled from the pots. Friday night this happened:

Tangled mess
...a tangled mess of a yarn hank...

A ball!
...got turned into a ball of yarn after 1½hour of work...

A neat hank
...and then my swift came in handy to turn the ball into a proper hank...

Now I just have to decide its fate.

Despite not generally liking pink, I actually like that color. You can always try over-dyeing it if you really dislike it, though. :kram:

Jaha, du velar fortfarande om färgen! Nog en bra idé att sticka lite i det innan du bestämmer dig - och om det inte är som du tänker dig så kan du ju alltid färga om det nästa gång :)
Hoppas vi ses imorgon!

Honestly, I think you can learn a lot about a person by the way they react to tangled skeins. Great work getting it wound off!

I don't think those skeins look that bad, Anna! I think you're being hard on yourself, girl! X
