Yesterday I spent an hour on my own in the wallpaper-and-paint-store talking to this awesome seller who had the best ideas ever! She was so inspiring I wanted us to get access to the house right then and there so we could start making wonders of it. She had all these ideas and theories on colour and had me comparing and seeing colours in different lights, she asked about the shape and size of the rooms so she could help out with the effects that different colours on different walls would have, she explained how many yellow colours have a lot of red in them and that most people who don't like yellow walls in fact react to the red and get stressed but it... And so on... We talked about consistency, how to make a house look like a unity even though it consists of many different rooms, how to make things pleasurable for the eyes and for the brain...
It was a wonderful hour. She was just the kind of seller I like talking to. Someone who shows me that she knows what she's talking about, spends a lot of time with me, lets me see visual examples of the theories she's talking about, asks about me and my likings before suggesting things to me, takes my budget into consideration and just simply gives me full attention. And to be honest, I think she had as much fun as I had planning things.
'Cause it seems like I have a plan. I got some new ideas and was all jiddy when I came home to talk to boyfriend about them. Some changed colours and the addition of an extra colour in ever room. Apparently a room gets warmer, better balanced and more pleasurable if you combine a wallpappered wall with two other colours and not just one. How a painted bed would lift the whole bedroom and "live up" to the wallpaper behind it. Boyfriend didn't object to any of my suggestions until I came to the part where I told him I wanted us to paint the radiators in the living room in gold.
He said he had to think about that one. I have no idea why...

Isn't it nice to talk to someone so knowledgeable and inspiring? I'm so bad when it comes to selecting colors for walls. I could really use someone like that! And a house I could actually decorate, of course.
