It's funny. When I'm in my everyday life, working five days a week with weekends in between, I can't wait for vacation times and things that interrupt the given routine.
Now I've been longing for "everyday life" for a week. I'm sick and tired of things feeling upside down. I want to wake up in the morning, hug boyfriend, get myself ready for a new day, spend quality time with the cats, go to work, earn my salary, go home, hug boyfriend, eat dinner, exercise or knit or sew or read or watch tv or bury my face in cat fur.
So, I've been looking forward to today, when I was supposed to return to usual routines and go to work. I did go to work but left after an hour to spend the following 6 hours at the emergency clinic... I've had stomach pains for the last five days and they've increased. It feels sort of like menstrual cramps but it's more intense than I'm used to and sometimes a cutting pain runs through my body, from the stomach to the back. And it's all on my right side. Closer to my hip than my navel. As the pain refused to subside, I called a nurse to ask what to do. She told me to go to the emergency as I might have appendicitis.
I didn't. And I didn't have any cysts on my ovaries either. There was no sign of infection or STDs. I was about to ovulate though. And the conclusion came out as "Your ovulation is most likely more painful as you've been in stress the last couple of weeks. Take some painkillers, relax and hope for it to go away soon. Come back next week if you're not better."
My first day back at work didn't turn out as I had hoped for. Maybe my everyday routine can start tomorrow instead?
