WIP - Emmeline Apron

So I started my Emmeline Apron aaaages ago. Yesterday I decided to take pictures of it so I could blog a bit about it. I also started to attach the straps but after five attempts at basting them on at the right angle, I gave up. And decided to go out in the sun instead...

Here's what my two sides look like:

I bought the fabric at IKEA and it was cheap cheap cheap. I like that the two sides are so different; one of them is more classic and the other one is fun. It took a while to find a colour that matched both of them but I think the purple works well.

I've lengthened the two sides as this pattern isn't designed for people my height (6'). I didn't bother changing the "side slope" so the apron will be quite wide and sort of "flap" at the back. I don't think that will bother me. A too short apron would though...

This is what happens when I take pictures of things on the floor...

Oh Anna,
I've been drooling over the emmeline pattern for so long. I'm in love with the fabrics you've chosen!
Thanks too for being so sweet and commenting on my blog lately. I've tried to write back to you, but my messages bounce back as undeliverable. . . perhaps your e-mail address is wrong over on Wordpress?

I love that fabric - I've been meaning to get to Ikea to check out what they have. (Fabulous photos of Skorpan!)

Yep. That's what happens when I try to take pictures too. Also, I must get to IKEA immediately! I had no idea they had such cool fabric.
